BAUTIZAR Vision

June 6, 2016

How weird because i´m just reading about abinadi too!!! I love that. when Noah came there was a lot of wickedness in the city and their hearts were set on riches, they were lazy, focused on their own desire more than will of God. How many people do we know like this in our lives? and what did God do about it? He sent Abinadi to help them understand what they were doing wasn´t going to get them anywhere. and it makes me think God sends us to these same types of people so that we can help them.

THIS WEEK WAS SO CRAZY. the first night here in Chacabuco my companion woke up at 2 AM, crying saying that she didn´t have any strength in her arms and felt a lot of pressure in her head. We called the mission president´s wife (poor thing) and she told us to go to the hospital. so we went and they hooked her up to an IV. and everything calmed down. She´s fine now, still a little delicate. But she's great, a super hard worker, a pesar de todo (i can´t remember how to say that in english). She is super positive too. super funny. and we get along great. She is one of the best missionaries I have ever seen.

The ward is HUGE. its AWESOME. there are 8 missionaries. us and 3 sets of elders. The attendance this week was 180! the stake president is all about missionary work. He makes the bishops teach gospel principles (the class was awesome!). the lider misional is unlike anything I have ever seen. he is on top of EVERYTHING. and when the missionaries don´t bring the reports or don´t do what they are supposed to he lays down the law! The days of begging the mission leaders to meet with us are over!!!! The members are so fantastic. we just visited a family yesterday and they asked us if we could do practices of inviting people to church because they want to do it but are a little nervous. uh OF COURSE!!!!

We saw so many miracles. I can´t believe it. Hermana Conrad (the missionary that was here before me and just went home) told me, that in the area they were teaching a lot of people who just weren´t quite ready to be baptized so they dropped them. but she said that she felt like I was going to be her next companion and whenever she was talking to someone who needed more time she said she thought of me. and thought Hermana Haight is going to baptize them!  Then hermana gonzales got there, and now me :) and she told me that. I just want to cry writing it. I know that God has so many people prepared for us to help. and I am so excited, I am going to give it my all

And wow. Saturday we were visiting an hermana who can totally be baptized she´s awesome the only thing shes missing is going to church! We went to visit her and when we were talking she said "It seems like it took 4 missionaries talking to me, and then came hermana haight and now I get it" and I thought about what hermana Conrad told me.
We passed by an old investigator who couldn´t be baptized because she wasn´t married and she told us that they separated a week ago. She came to church yesterday with her 10 year old son, and loved it! and accepted a baptismal date WOW.

There is another 14 year old girl who comes to all the activities, YW, church, but we just need permission from her parents and she could be baptized as soon as this week.

the vision is BAUTIZAR BAUTIZAR BAUTIZAR.
I love missionary work. I love my Savior. I know that God prepares people.

Chacabuco

I have just been learning so much. everything that ever happens to us is to help us become more like Christ. Augh. I´m so far away. BUT THANKS MOM for sending me that talk about the enabling power of the atonement. it helps us put off the natural man and become a Saint. that is helping me a lot!

Life is just so simple, we can ask God for help with anything! We are loving the Conference talks too!

We made a video in Tigre. If you add maybe stefi villalva on Facebook you can see it. also, Paola maldonaldo said she added me, but i didn´t accept haha.

You are just a fantastic little President, and Woodland park is so lucky to have you! keep up the good work. :) I love hearing how christlike you are in every situation. whether its giving service, and responding to the grumbles! I´m proud to call you my mom!

This week. I honestly can´t even remember what happened. awww it was so hard to say goodbye, I really didn´t want to change from Tigre or my companions. but now,
All I know is that I´m totally excited to be here. But I´m definitely not in Tigre anymore. Chacabuco is capital, a lot more city. I am going to miss all the dogs in the streets, and dirt roads, and that everyone lets you in to their house.

Okay. there are two more transfers left. SO NOW ITS WORK WORK WORK. I don´t know how many minutes I have left! but i{m going to take advantage of every single one of them. I made a new life goal: never be mad every again. hahahaha.

I had to say goodbye to Tigre

my new companion. HERMANA GONZALES de Lima, Peru!
we´re in CHACABUCO!

familia Acosta (cristina, zamira, dani, marcos, jere)
all with thier little missionary plaques that we made!

The last night trio sleepover party with a kilo of ice cream!

Daiana Segovia and all the babies (poor thing, we asked her if she needed anything and she said they don´t have a heater)

Trials

May 25, 2015

Lautaro was confirmed. We asked him after how he felt when he got baptized and all that and he said he felt like he was with Jesus.

In my blessing when I was set apart it says "you will see miracles. you will see the power of God manifest". It happened this week. Soledad (18) is an investigator that went to church once. but she didn´t really have a good experience and when we went back to see her the next day she was in a fight with her cousin and she had a lot of attitude and tried to give us the Book of Mormon back and said she didn´t want to keep going with this. We thought well, maybe she needs some time. so we went back the next day to see if things were more calm. but no. she didn´t want to talk to us. We asked her some questions she just responded "no" and "i don´t know". We weren´t getting anywhere. People have their agency, and if they don´t want to open their hearts there is no way the Spirit can testify to them and there is nothing we can do about that. But I felt the spirit so strongly the first day I met her, and I couldn´t leave her like this. I remembered that phrase of my blessing, and I prayed so hard in my heart that this could be one of those miracle moments. and we just told her how much we loved her and how we felt when we met her. She started to say that ever since we had been visiting her things didn´t get better in her family, and it seemed that there were even more problems. We told her that that´s normal and Satan throws everything he´s got when people are about to make a good decision. I love Alma 12:6 that says all this was a trap of the adversary! Then Soledad started to change. She said "well, if its like that we will keep going" I COULDN´T BELIEVE IT!!!!

The next day we brought the talk from Elder Holland of this conference. that sometimes we think "people don´t change, these ideals don´t exist, you can´t...." It was great. she said it was very true that we need to overcome the challenges. AND THEN Saturday morning her uncle was murdered. He was driving a truck making deliveries and some people followed him and tried to rob him and when he resisted they killed him. and I thought, I have never seen anyone with so much opposition. We went to visit her and she said she didn´t feel like talking, but we just reminded her that opposition exists, and we asked her if she felt the gospel was a goood thing, and she said yes. that she prayed to know if it was true and felt something.

ahhhh. the poor people. The inflation is so bad here. the economy is horrible. no one has work, the bus prices doubled. some people eat bread and drink tea and thats all they have.

We also did divisions with some hermanas that are having problems. but it went really well, and its so nice to feel like things get solved.

But here are some scriptures that I loved this week:

D&C 105:14
For behold, I do not require at their hands to fight the battles of Zion; for, as I said in a former commandment, even so will I fulfil—I will fight your battles.

2 Nephi 8:
For the Lord shall comfort Zion, he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

Helaman 6:3
Nevertheless, the people of the church did have great joy because of the conversion of the Lamanites, yea, because of the church of God, which had been established among them. And they did fellowship one with another, and did rejoice one with another, and did have great joy.
